Maxis Sim City and Cities XL just got owned

Postby jerberson12 » Thu Jul 22, 2010 1:16 pm

Hi Pixelactive,

You know what, with this software, MAXIS Sim City and Cities XL just got owned. I've been looking for a very good city simulation game on the internet and when I came across Cityscape, my whole simulation hobby just got a big turn. I am so impressed and I think 90% of what I want from other's city simulation game was fullfilled by Cityscape. The most favorite feature I found from Cityscape is the ability to import more 3D models from 3D Google Warehouse. All was left from what I want is making the map bigger like a region or a county perhaps 50km x 50km terrain, and make the controls friendly user like eliminating the ALT when you look around and could use a walk or run tool using a typical first person game controls (W -forward, S -backwards, A -left, D - right). Your driving simulation are fine with me, could have use keyboard too not just XBOX360 controllers.

You guys should make Cityscape an official simulation game for the hobbist. You guys should check city simulation forums like http://www.simtropolis.com which discuss both MAXIS Sim City and MC Cities XL. They are begging for simulation like this, and also just to have you guys an idea on other people who likes to play city simulation. For me, I don' care about city economy, trades, crimes and other stuff that other city simulation game have. But if you guys really want to expand Cityscape make it more an official city simulation game, go to that website. I would be willing to pay $60-$100 for your future Cityscape Game Edition. Thanks for making the demo and will expect from you guys.

Hi Benison,

Thanks for the good review. Can I use your quotes on our brochures and website? That would be great. We have seen CityScape covered on simtropolis.com and other city simulation game websites. Please feel free to post your nice review there. You know the city simulation games very well.

We are focusing CityScape on content creators for now. We have a lot of fun using it, and don't mind that it's both fun to use and productive. Making a game may be something we will consider later. We do have the gaming background to do this. Currently, we are happy helping others make 3D cities quickly and easily.

Hey Benison,

Thanks for the praise! We love hearing (and seeing) what people are doing with the demo version. If you've made anything cool with CityScape, please post screenshots in our forum gallery here: http://pixelactive3d.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

And I have some good news for you - we just added keyboard input for all the vehicles yesterday in our internal build. Look forward to seeing this (and many other huge improvements) in our next demo release!
